*Avoid arbitrary pricing: base rates on business expenses and profitability.

*Factor Overhead, etc

*Work backwards from costs to your pricing

*Hire a CPA to understand true costs

*Don't copy another tech's flat rate

*Track your repair rate percentage to guide pricing and call filtering

*RRP's ranged from 38 to 42% for a wide variety of jobs to 80% by cherry picking, etc...

*Build value through speed, first call completes and customer experience.

*Focus on speed and same day fixes.

*Build stock of parts in vehicle. "I can fix your appliance now!"

*Leave a little room in each day's schedule to add a last minute high profit job.

*Use creative marketing and good service to build your business and online reputation.

*Be available when other companies are closed!

*Expect some customers to be "grumpy" no matter what.
